We are happy to share with you Hazel Yoshimi of Jennifer and Jeff. We are thankful they’ve been apart of Green Diaper Babies since July of 2014. We hope you enjoy learning about the Klapatch-Totsh family!
TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOUR FAMILY!
Jeff and I (Jen) met in college at Purdue. After college, we moved to Chicago to enjoy the extended college experience that only this city could provide. 🙂 Jeff is a high school teacher and I’m a professor. One fun-filled decade later, we welcomed the love of our lives, Hazel Yoshimi, to our family. We also have a wonderful, extremely affectionate, extremely large, orange tabby named Scotch.
AND TELL US ABOUT THE LITTLE ONE WHOSE WEARING CLOTH DIAPERS!
Hazel is quite possibly the coolest person you’ll ever meet. 🙂 She wakes up very morning with the most amazing smile on her face, as though she can’t wait to experience another day. She loves to laugh, listen to stories, and practice her awesome karate chops and kicks. By far though, her favorite activity is putting as many things in her mouth as possible. So far, her record is both hands and Sophie the Giraffe’s head. (Impressive, I know!)
WHAT ARE THE MAIN REASONS YOU LIKE BEING A PART OF THE GREEN DIAPER BABIES FAMILY?
We first considered cloth diapering when we learned how terrible disposable diapers are for the environment. Further research led us to learn about the decreased likelihood of diaper rash when using cloth as well as the potential benefit of earlier potty training. Once we found Green Diaper Babies and realized there would be no poop-handling on our part, the decision was a no brainer. We couldn’t be happier with the service thus far!
WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE ACTIVIES TO DO AS A FAMILY?
Dinnertime is always fun at our house. Hazel sits in her chair on the island and acts as Jeff’s sous chef. Since I don’t cook, I’m very appreciative of the quality control she provides. 🙂 We love to go bowling, listen to records, and have living room dance parties, which Hazel particularly enjoys. Fun fact! Hazel’s middle name is based on the character in the Flaming Lips’ song “Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots.
