TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOUR FAMILY, WHO ARE THEY AND WHAT DO THEY LOVE?
We’re the Barners! Rufus is an attorney with his own practice specializing in family law and Claire is an Operations Manger at a nonprofit. Elise turned two in December and is developing her own eclectic interests, which include baking cookies, reading every book in sight, NASA and all things space, classic Barack Obama speeches, Minnie Mouse, and the Beatles.
WHAT ARE THE MAIN REASONS YOU LIKE BEING A PART OF THE GREEN DIAPER BABIES FAMILY?
We both are passionate about social justice issues and Green Diaper Babies has allowed us to be environmentally friendly without sacrificing convenience. Elise loves noticing the different colors of her diaper covers and pretending to change Minnie Mouse’s diaper. We all appreciate that Elise has never had a really bad diaper rash while wearing cloth.
WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE ACTIVIES TO DO AS A FAMILY AND ANYTHING ELSE YOU’D LIKE TO SHARE?
We enjoy going on adventures all around the city. Elise loves touching plants at the Garfield Park Conservatory, hiking near the North Park Village Nature Center, and walking along the Chicago River. We all enjoy being in the kitchen. Elise is learning how to bake bread from her dad and all about spices from her mom. We both come from big families, and Elise loves spending time with her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
